 Homework/Assignments

  • Typically students will get nightly Homework Monday thru Thursday and it should take approximately an hour.  Typically, students will not receive homework over the weekend unless there is a project or test.

  • We all know that the only way to become a better reader is by reading.  Reading for at least 20 minutes each night is a homework assignment. It is important for your child to be reading a minimum of two hours a week.  Please help to encourage this at home.

  • iPads will be coming home daily as well as Logitech crayons. These need to be charged every night and ready for school each day. The charger stays home and only the iPad and Logitech crayon comes to school daily. Please find a system that works best. If these items are not in school the child will have no other form of technology to use to be successful during the day. We use items for a variety of subjects each day so it is very important that they are charged and in class each day.

  •

  • If your child forgets their homework, please refrain from dropping off their work in the office. We are continuing to build responsibility by having them be accountable for their own work.  We understand mistakes happen, but if missing homework becomes a problem we will work together to find a way to improve this.

  • If, at some point your child is struggling with a concept, please have them move on to a different problem or assignment. Please send a note with any unfinished work to let me know that your child was having some difficulty.

Daily Snacks and Birthday Treats

Morning Snack:

Each morning your child will have time to eat a snack. If you choose to send a snack to school please make sure it is healthy snack.  Please keep in mind this is only a snack and should be something neat and easy to eat while we continue to do our work. Items must be from the District Approved Snack List.

Water bottles are allowed in our classroom as long as they do not become a problem.  Please help remind your child to bring it home daily to wash.
